Lavender Beginnings Doula Services was in search of an organized administrative centered thought partner that could create guidance, structure and consistency for their official business launch. Lavender Beginnings main goal was to create a space that honors the transformative experience of pregnancy and birth by offering specialized care, allowing clients to feel safe, vulnerable, and fully authentic. This new doula business was in the beginning stages and was seeking a partner to tackle the administrative set up, strategic guidance on major business decisions and co-create a smooth workflow during this tender phase of evolution.

My Approach: Turning scatteredness into wholeness through world and system building.

Alejandra Lewis is the Owner and Founder of Lavender Beginnings Doula Services. Our work together was rooted in deep collaboration—blending strategic thinking with design and structure building still embedded in what Alejandra dreamed possible. Together, we focused on three key areas:

Brand Building | To establish a distinct, well rounded and memorable brand, we: 

• Established Alejandra’s values system as a doula and created clear language for clients and potential partners to understand said values.

• Created a tangible support system for underserved and marginalized community members to receive care as a pillar of Lavender Beginnings branding is centered in community care.

• Agreed on the brand aesthetics and kept that consistent throughout all media.

 Client Communications | To create a smooth and clear communication style with clients, we: 

• Set an agreed standard of care for Alejandra’s clients; centering LGBTQ+, BIPOC clients, while holding a disability justice and airborne illness awareness lens.

• Focused on client forms, agreements, and contracts being in simple and clear language. Creating ease for clients by giving them a set expectation of what level of care they can expect.

• Unpacked how to establish trust with new clients and the surrounding community by creating a commitment to consistency, protecting client information, and punctuality.

System Coordination | To create a foundational framework for smooth function and operations, we:

• Identify Alejandra’s goals, purpose, and values which supported the outline of Lavender Beginnings strategic plan.

• Created a standardized practice for system building and monitoring Lavender Beginnings growth, confirming that all choices are aligned with the values and goals set.

• Established clear ownership over our partnership and task division, as well as weekly meetings to create an accountability practice.

The Outcome: Growing Confidence and a Stable Launching Pad for Lavender Beginnings 

This partnership created a reality where clarity, steadiness, and intention became the center of the work for Lavender Beginnings. With client communication, smooth workflows, an established brand and a strategic plan underway, Lavender Beginnings has a firm launching pad to begin seeking consistent clientele.  

Alejandra grew in confidence and began to believe that starting their own business was not only possible but was going to be successful. It was an honor to participate in the making of what will be a strong supporting pillar in Atlanta’s birthing community.
